Muddling the Message.

Pretty much everybody who writes about politics today is either mentioning or dissecting Frank Luntz's newest advice to the Repugs about how to kill financial reform.

Wonkette, not surprisingly, has the funniest take.

Here's mine.

If you really want to understand how this sort of crap works, don't bother keeping track of the usages of all the code words and incendiary phrases by politicians, keep track of how often then are used in the Liberal Media and by all the TV talking heads and how they become "true" and "real" because those clowns just go with the flow and long ago gave up the heavy lifting duties of reporting and analyzing in favor of merely transcribing.

Extra credit for catching David Broder using them in an argument for bipartisanship.
