Per the cartoon below, Buddy's prayers have been answered. His own private rest room (and private is is because the snow is taller than he is by a couple of inches all around) has been dug out off the back porch.

Fortunately the snow is light but this is the first time I can recall in years that I had to do two complete shovels-full to get down to bare ground.
