A History of the Worst. Presidential. Election. Ever.

Bob Somerby, the guy behind The Daily Howler, the best political press criticism site on the internets,  has just launched a second site, How He Got There, an online book about the election of George W. Bush over Al Gore in 2000.

Somerby is a very good and very incisive press critic. It should be noted that he was a college roommate of Gore's and is more than a little obsessive about the theft of the presidency a decade ago. Always read him with that in mind.

Howler is a site that you should have bookmarked; there are new posts weekdays most of the time and they often bring an entirely different perspective to the news. How He...is operating on a monthly basis, so there's plenty of time to read and absorb each (based on the first one) lengthy chapter. Regular Somerby readers will have heard most of it before but will still find this organized "long view" approach valuable, I'd think.

There are no RSS feeds on either site, so you have to bookmark them and remember to check in on your own.
